Aggie Horticulture Contributors Memorandum of Agreement

A Memorandum of Agreement giving the Aggie Horticulture Webmaster the right/responsibility for making changes to the server environment that improve network security must be signed by all who have information stored on our servers.

A review of the Aggie Horticulture security protocols (the University required ISAAC report) found 16 deficiencies in the way our server is being managed. This resulted in our getting an unacceptable overall rating. Some of these exceptional items will be difficult to correct (lack of environmental control in the server room, development of a business continuity plan) while others are manageable.

The MOA, WHICH IS REQUIRED OF ALL WHO HAVE INFORMATION SERVED ON AGGIE HORTICULTURE, addresses two of these items:
Item B4d. Not all security-related information resource changes are approved by the data owner through a quality assurance process before implementation:
Item C15. Users of the information resources have not had annual information security awareness training:

Request your copy of the MOA from Dan Lineberger.

Only 14 left to go!

To prevent any interruption in your FTP access, please print the MOA, sign it and FAX it back to me at 979-845-0627 by next Monday (Aug 20th). I will terminate FTP access for all users for whom I don't have a signed MOA by that date.
