DIRT…IT DOES A BODY GOOD!
In these days of ever-increasing stress, everyone needs an outlet to let off some steam. But you don't have to be even mildly athletic to play in the dirt.
Gardening is good for the soul and a profound stress reliever. Out in the garden, there are no phones, faxes, or computers…one with nature and one with God. And digging in the dirt.
There's something about the quiet of the garden that nourishes the body, soul, and spirit. Oh, you might have some extra dirt under your nails and a few aches and pains the next day, but your mind will find a peace that is indescribable.
A survey I read a few years ago said gardeners claim that worries and cares seem to evaporate in the green setting. The average time it took for the cares of the world to fade into oblivion was fifteen minutes.
So get out into the dirt. Don't worry about the "how-to's." Just do it! You'll feel better for it….guaranteed.
