
5. Remember, use good seed and a lightweight soilless potting mix. Don't
forget to LABEL!!!

6. Direct seeding into 4 packs. The seedlings are thinned later as opposed
to starting them in a flat and then transplanting them to a four pack or
six pack.

7. Transplanting a small tomato seedling, being careful to handle the
seedling by the leaf rather than the stem and using a wooden stick or pencil
as a dibble to first make a hole. Later it is used to firm the soil around
the root system. Remember, if you handle the stem and damage it, the plant
will be stunted.

8. Tomato seedlings under fluorescent lights and close together; 6 inches
or less.
