My area of research includes a diverse range of work in the cultural aspects of vegetable production including published work in crop disease resistance, fertility needs of vegetable crops, evaluation of plastic mulches for vegetable production and weed control in vegetables. As the Extension Vegetable Specialist for the South Texas region I coordinate extension and research efforts between vegetable producers, County Extension personnel and Experiment Station Scientists to provide Extension educational programs related to commercial vegetable production. I am responsible for gathering, disseminating and generating information needed by the commercial vegetable industry in South Texas.
