HORT 201H Group Projects
Spring, 2008
Assignment:
As a group, research a topic that is related in some way to Horticulture.
I have included below a list of some former projects. You are not limited to
these topics - they are just to spark your thinking. Be creative! The best presentations
have always been those that were unique and contemporary.
Have one member of your group e-mail me what your have selected for your topic by February 28.
Develop and deliver a Power Point presentation that is approximately 15 minutes in length (for groups with 3 people, 20 minutes for those with 4 people). Delivery of the presentation should be equally divided amongst the team members (one member can't do the research, another make the slides and the third deliver the talk).
You will be graded based on the elements described in the Scoring
Guide. You will also each use this guide for peer evaluation of your classmates.
Each member of the team will receive a separate grade, but elements of your
grade obviously are dependent upon the presentation as a whole
(i.e. see 'Organization'). Note that 10% of the total grade is based on participation
and peer evaluation, therefore you must be present the day
that your group is not presenting to receive these points.
Former Projects:
Important : BE SURE TO ADEQUATELY REFERENCE
YOUR PRESENTATION !!! This includes any pictures and illustrations
that you include in your slides that you did not create.
Note: some of the former projects provided as examples did not adequately references their materials. Depending on the type of citation, you may want to either include the reference
on the bottom of the slide, or provide a list of references
used at the end of your presentation. For guidelines on appropriate citations
see: Why
Citing Properly is Important
