Group Project Concepts
Listed below are a few ideas to get you started thinking about the group projects.

Texas Horticulture Hall of Fame
The Department of Horticultural Sciences recognizes outstanding contributions to Texas Horticulture by induction of individuals into the Texas Horticultue Hall of Fame. This Web site would provide an overview of Texas horticulture, and provide information and photos of the Hall of Fame members. |

Pots & Plants Business Web Site
Nestled quitely into a busy intersection on a major thoroughfare on the west side of Austin, is the Pots & Plants Garden Center. Aggie-owned and operated, this business is unique in many respects. It's clientele represents an upscale market appreciative of unique, specimen plants and large ornate containers. The owner has a passion for pink flamingoes, and they are his trademark. His operation has been visited by the likes of former President Bill Clinton and was mentioned on the Tonight Show. He needs an Aggie-designed Web site to feature his flock! |
 | Endowed Chair Informational Project
The Endowed Chair in Floriculture At Texas A&M was an industry-organized, industry-led, and industry-funded effort that raised over $500,000 over 4 years to endow an academic chair in the Department of Horticultural Sciences. Matched by the TAMU Development Foundation's Bright Fund, the proceeds of this $1,000,000 endowment will be used to create a center of excellence in floriculture here. We should have an informational Web site to commemorate and publicize this achievement. See the news release. |

Plant Information Portal
The Aggie Horticulture PicturePages is a collection of databases and Web galleries of images of ornamental plants, fruits, vegetables and seeds. Can an imaginative interface (portal) be created which will make it easier for the public to find the information or objects they want?

Student Services/Recruitment
Jayne Zajicek and Sharon Duray have expressed interest in having student input on a major revision of the student services/recruitment Web site. You know the information you need, you know where to find it on the TAMU Web site, and you know what attracts others of your peer group as they select a major. We need your advice. This project will not involve loading all the information on the site, merely creating a template that illustrates the features.
