First Assignment

Your first task is to supply a picture of yourself. Hopefully you have access to a digital camera or a flatbed scanner. If this is not the case, send a picture to the instructor (Dan Lineberger, 202 Horticulture/Forest Science Building, College Station, TX 77843-2133) and it will be scanned in for you. Don't delay! The next assignment will require this picture.

Picture Specifications: Now that you have found the perfect photo, follow these few steps.

  • If you are scanning the image in, set the scanner at 300 dpi.
  • In an image editing program take the digital or scanned photo and set the photo to 72 dpi and the image width should be made to (approximately) 300 pixels.
  • Save the picture as your last name (yourlastname.jpg).
  • You are not required to post the picture to the server until the next assignment.
